The shop was busy all day with friends that came on purpose for such occasion, but also with passerby on their way to or from Atocha and Puerta del Sol that were amazed by the impressive window with neon skeins from El Robledal de la Santa and Ohwow.Amsterdam project bags especially made for Miss Kits.
After long days of hard work to have everything ready to open this new yarn shop in Madrid, Marta and Miguel greeted all new knitters and crocheters that entered the shop with enthusiasm.
"We love Miss Kits philosophy and it fits perfectly with the one we have at Merino Feroz, so we are excited and expectant about this yarn adventure in the center of Madrid. Especially now that we finally see the light at the end of the tunnel of the renovations we had to make on the premises. It has been a series of catastrophic misfortunes: leaks, short-circuits, a small flood... and us anxious to see the walls covered in wool!!!", they told us.
The adventure of this new yarn shop in Madrid started to move behind the scenes in February. "Since we visited Miss Kits yarn store in Barcelona we always joked "When I grow up I want to be Miss Kits." So when Àlex and Vane proposed to us opening in Madrid we couldn't believe it. We may even cried a bit", they say. "We are especially excited for returning at street level and to deal with people. We love wool chatter! And we are delighted to be located in a neighborhood with a longtime tradition of yarn shops, one step away from the Plaza Mayor, Sol or the Barrio de las letras."
We asked Marta and Miguel what they found most interesting about this new yarn shop in Madrid: "A store like Miss Kits was much needed in the Madrid yarn scene, where there are hardly shops where you can buy hand-dyed skeins and even less of this size. More than 13 lineal meters of "wall of sin" 45 colors for each indie dyer! The best place in the capital for discovering those hand-dyed wonders that most of us have only seen on Instagram. It is like a yarn fair but available every day.
Although perhaps the most interesting thing that we have at Miss Kits Madrid is that the offer is not only limited to hand-dyed skeins, but we also have a wide variety of prices and qualities.
