Description

DROPS Alpaca is a lovely and soft yarn spun from 100% superfine alpaca.

The alpaca fibers used for DROPS Alpaca yarn balls have not been treated or exposed to any chemical treatment before the dyeing. They have only been washed, highlighting the fiber’s natural properties, while it also provides a better shape and texture quality.

DROPS Alpaca is spun from 3 strands with an extra twist to provide a durable surface.

It is available in many colors (more than 50!), from the vibrant ones to the more subdued. Solid, natural, and mixed tones. Mixed tones have been manufactured by carding the dyed alpaca fibers together before spinning, which gives it a mixed effect.

Its wide variety of colors makes DROPS Alpaca the perfect choice to knit colorwork sweaters. For a simple long-sleeved sweater in size L, you will need about 8 yarn balls. 

With 2 yarn balls, you can knit an easy hat, and with 4, you can complement the set with a cowl or a pair of mittens.

Garments made in DROPS Alpaca are lightweight and comfortable, super soft directly on the skin, and have a nice characteristic sheen.

Although this yarn is sport weight for its meterage, this is a thin thread that gives good results worked in projects that ask for fingering weight yarn.
