Drops Cotton Light

DROPS Cotton Light is the perfect yarn for the summer for those who want cotton garment that are light at the same time. The equal part blend of cotton and polyester achieve this effect: the qualities of cotton in a thick thread lightened by microfibers.

Microfibers in DROPS Cotton Light are even thinner than silk thread. They have the advantage that they do not absorb moisture, so when combined with cotton we get the ideal thread for knitting summer garments. This yarn is also a good option for those who can't or won't use animal fibers to knit winter garments.

The blend of cotton and polyester creates a yarn with good stability and resistance. Being spun from multiple strands, garments knitted with DROPS Cotton Light will have a smooth and regular knit definition, will also mantain good shape and will last for years. For all this, and because it is machine washable and has a wide range of vibrant colors, it is also perfect to knit children's garments.

To knit a long-sleeved sweater in size L with DROPS Cotton Light you will need around 14 yarn balls. To knit a long-sleeved sweater for a child of 7 years you will need around 8 yarn balls. Remember that this is just a reference and that your own tension, technique and kind of stitch pattern will modify the calculation.

DROPS Cotton Light can be used to crochet garments and accessories but please note that due to its spinning and composition this thread tends to split and might become an added challenge to your project. 

This yarn has been made in the UE and had the STANDARD 100 Class I certification by Oeko-Tex® (certificate number 951032). This certification means that the yarn has been tested and it is free of harmful chemicals and it is safe for human use. Moreover, Class I level is the highest one and means that this yarn is suitable to make baby garments.
