DROPS Eskimo is a yarn made of 100% pure wool. It is a thick single ply yarn, perfect to quickly knit warm and comfortable garments.
Being pure wool without any kind of treatment (they were only washed and have not undergone any chemical treatment before dyeing), this yarn is ideal for creating felting projects.
In addition, the lack of chemical treatments enhances the natural qualities of the fiber, also helping to create pieces with a better shape and texture quality.
DROPS Eskimo is a very popular yarn to make winter garments. It is available in 3 kind of shades: uni color (a selection of solid colours), mix (yarn balls in which the fibers of different colors have been carded together before proceeding to spin, creating a mixed effect) and print (yarn balls with several differentiated colors that repeat regularly).
To knit a long-sleeved sweater in size L you will need around 15 yarn balls of DROPS Eskimo. To knit a hat you will need 3 yarn balls, but if you want to felt it you must knit it bigger, with 5 yarn balls. You will also need 5 yarn balls to make a pair of felted slippers for adult. Remember that these quantities are only indicative. Each size, technique, your own tension... will change the calculation.
DROPS Eskimo is currently rebranding to DROPS Snow. The two names may coexist during some time, but they will share color number and characteristics. If your order contains a yarn ball labeled as DROPS Snow, it is not an error, is the new name of DROPS Eskimo with the same quality as always.
DROPS Eskimo has been made in EU and has the Oeko-Tex® certificate (STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® 25.3.0099). This guarantees that this yarn is suitable for human use because it doesn't have any harmful chemical in it. Moreover, it has the Class I level, the highest one, and it means that it can be used for baby articles.
