Drops Fabel

DROPS Fabel is a 4 stranded hard wearing sock yarn with superwash treatment. If you are looking for the perfect yarn to knit socks, with its 75% wool and 25% polyamide composition, DROPS Fabel is your first choice. 

Being spun with a very soft wool, DROPS Fabel is perfect not only to make socks, but also is an affordable fingering yarn to knit or crochet many other projects, even baby garments.

With its wide range of colors and prints, DROPS Fabel will allow you to make original colorwork sweaters and multi-tonal shawls. 

Within the sample of colors of this sock yarn you will find 3 kind of shades: uni color (a selection of solid colors), print (yarn balls with color changes that repeat regularly) and long print (yarn balls with color changes with larger repetitions of each color, creating wider stripes). 

DROPS Fabel print and long print yarn balls are dyed with a method called "fancy dyeing". One of the particularities of this method is that within the same dying lot might be small tone and pattern differences. This is not an error, but one of the peculiarities of this yarn that make it so special.

In the product pictures you can see a sample of how these yarn balls look once knitted. Please keep in mind that the pattern and color distribution will change depending on the number of stitches, if you knit in the round or flat,... This samples represent small circular projects such as socks. If you knit a jumper, the pattern repetition will be different.  

To knit a pair of adult socks or gloves you will need 2 yarn balls of DROPS Fabel. A long-sleeved sweater in size L will take around 8 yarn balls. Remember that these numbers are just an orientation. Your own tension, technique and pattern will modify the estimation. Make a tension swatch before starting your project to get a more precise calculation.

DROPS Fabel has been made in EU and have the STANDARD 100 Class I certification by Oeko-Tex® (certificate number 25.3.0099). This means that it has been tested and no harmful chemicals have been found, so it is safe for human use. Also, Class I is the highest level and it means that this yarn is suitable for baby articles.
