Description

DROPS Lima is a 4 ply DK yarn made with a blend of 65% Peruvian Highland wool and 35% superfine alpaca.

These yarn balls contain natural fibers that have not undergone to any chemical treatment prior to dyeing. On one hand this enhances the natural properties of the fibers and on the other hand we acquire a product with a better shape and quality of texture. Keep in mind that as they do not have any treatment and contain alpaca, garments knitted with DROPS Lima must be hand washed, unless you want to make a felt accessory, such as mittens or a hat.

For its composition and fabrication we can say that DROPS Lima is the thin versión of DROPS Nepal. If you are looking to create lighter garments with the same qualities and features, DROPS Lima is your perfect choice for outdoor garments: sportswear, the classic Norwegian sweaters,...

Thanks to the alpaca, this hard wearing and durable yarn is also soft, comfortable and pleasant to the touch.

Colors of DROPS Lima have been obtained carding together the different dyed fibers and proceeding later to the spinning of the yarn. This gives us mix colors, that show a mixed effect in which the different tones can be glimpsed by separate.

To knit a simple long-sleeved sweater in size L with DROPS Lima you will need around 12 yarn balls. This estimation may vary depending on your tension, the stitch pattern you choose, the final lenght of the sweater... make a tension swatch to adjust the calculation.
