Description

DROPS Paris is a 100% cotton yarn that knits quickly with 5mm needles.

Currently, cotton is the most widely used natural textile fiber in the world. This vegetable fiber has moisture-management properties, wicking moisture away from the skin and keeping cool the person wearing the garment. This makes garments knitted with DROPS Paris ideal for summer, but also keep us warm in winter. This makes DROPS Paris a very versatile yarn, perfect for those who can not or do not want to wear wool, alpaca and other fibers of animal origin. 

Cotton is also a fiber that withstands high temperatures, so garments woven with this thread are easy to mantain and can be machine washed at 60ºC.

DROPS Paris is spun from multiple thin cotton strands, resulting in a soft thread without losing the delicately rustic texture of this vegetable fiber.

DROPS Paris is available in two varieties: DROPS Paris uni color and DROPS Paris recycled denim. 

DROPS Paris unicolor yarn balls are made with 100% combed cotton. Combed cotton is a softer version of regular cotton. After harvesting the seed and before spinning, the cotton goes through a procedure in which the shorter fibers and other impurities are removed, and the longer threads are aligned, such as a carding process in which the cotton in combed. This practice makes the resulting yarn softer, stronger and with a more stable quality. In addition, it reduces the possibility of pilling on our garments.

DROPS Paris recycled denim yarn balls are made from recycled cotton. It is still high quality 100% cotton but it comes from textil leftovers that remain in the manufacturing process or used clothes, thus creating a circular economy system. This recycled yarn has the same properties, features, quality and durability as the conventional cotton, but contributes to a lower environmental impact of cotton in the fashion world. Currently only 1% of all the clothing produced in the world returns to the system in the form of recycled product.

To knit a summer t-shirt in size L with any of DROPS Paris varieties you will need 9 yarn balls. To knit a long-sleeved sweater of the same size, you should go up to 14 yarn balls. Keep in mind that this is only an approximation. For a more accurate calculation to your size, tension and type of stitch used, you should make a tension swatch.

These yarn balls have been made in the European Union and have been certified by Oeko-Tex® (certificate number 951032 Standard 100, Class I) as safe for human use due that they have been found free of toxic chemicals. Also, Class I is the highest one and that means the they are suitable for baby garments.
